What to expect from the immersive Christmas experience in Kilkenny
The Gift by Luxmuralis is a brand new immersive Christmas experience coming to Ireland for the first time, following from the success of ‘Starlight’ that welcomed over 13,000 people in 2025.
Through a series of large-scale projections, immersive sound, and illumination you will be immersed in enchanting winter scenes filled with sparkling snowflakes, festive celebrations, glowing Christmas trees, and seasonal moments of wonder that capture the excitement and magic of Christmas.
As the experience unfolds, imagery inspired by the Christmas story transforms the 800-year-old interior of the cathedral into a stunning canvas of stars, angels, and travellers bearing gifts.
You will see vibrant Christmas flowers and festive colours illuminating the architecture in one of Ireland’s most iconic buildings with special surprises designed by the artist, especially for St Canice’s Cathedral.
Described as “the stained-glass windows of our time,” Luxmuralis create immersive fine-art experiences that transform historic spaces with cutting-edge visual storytelling.
Don’t miss your chance to explore the true meaning of the season and share a special Christmas memory with family and friends at St Canice’s Cathedral this December.
